These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ryze mobile application (“the App”) and the website at ryzealarm.app (together, the “Services”), operated by Devjoy Ltd (“Devjoy Agency”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, or by using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies, and these Terms apply in addition to Apple’s terms.
1. Description of Service
Ryze is an alarm clock app that requires you to complete physical or interactive challenges to dismiss an alarm. Active mission types may include push-ups, jumping jacks, photographing objects or scenes (such as an empty bed, the sky, or grass), solving math problems, and reading a Bible verse aloud. The App may use your device’s camera, microphone, speech recognition, notifications, AlarmKit, and optional Screen Time / Family Controls features to deliver these capabilities.
Features may change over time. We may add, remove, or modify missions and capabilities without notice, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ryze. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Account & device
Ryze is designed primarily for on-device use. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device, Apple ID, and any permissions you grant. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device while using the App.
4. Subscriptions & payments
Ryze offers a Pro subscription that provides access to the App’s features (including mission alarms, streaks, achievements, and bedtime lock). Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms.
- Free trial. New subscribers may receive a free trial when Apple and the App Store offer one (for example a multi-day trial when configured). If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription may convert to a paid plan and your Apple ID will be charged.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. Contact Apple Support or request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com where available.
- Prices. Prices are shown in the App Store and may vary by region. We may change prices prospectively as allowed by Apple.
5. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where permitted by law.
- Circumvent security, access controls, or mission verification.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services or other users’ devices.
- Use the App in a way that could harm you or others. Exercise caution when performing physical challenges, especially immediately after waking.
6. Health & safety disclaimer
Ryze includes physical exercise challenges such as push-ups and jumping jacks. You participate at your own risk.
- Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program if you have health concerns.
- Perform exercises in a safe environment with adequate space and footing.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort.
- Ryze does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional health guidance.
7. Camera, microphone & photos
Certain challenges require camera or microphone access. Media captured for challenges is processed on-device and is not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties for advertising. You may revoke these permissions anytime in your device’s Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of the Services — including text, graphics, logos, icons, sounds, and software — are the property of Devjoy Ltd or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s rules.
“Ryze”, “ryzealarm.app”, and related marks are used by Devjoy Ltd. You may not use our marks without prior written permission, except as needed to identify the App in ordinary App Store discovery.
9. Website
The marketing site at ryzealarm.app provides information about Ryze. It may link to the App Store or contact email. Site content is provided for general information and may change without notice. Download links may route through /download before opening the App Store.
10. Third-party services
The App may rely on third-party services (including Apple, RevenueCat, and PostHog). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that alarms will fire under all conditions (for example if the device is powered off, in Low Power Mode, critical system settings block alerts, required permissions are denied, or Apple system APIs behave unexpectedly).
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Devjoy Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the App subscription in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) fifty US dollars (US $50) — noting that App Store purchases are processed by Apple.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Devjoy Ltd and its officers, directors, and agents from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page and/or within the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, Apple’s rules, or us. You may stop using the Services at any time by deleting the App and cancelling any active subscription through Apple.
16. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence provide otherwise. Courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any rights you may have to bring claims in your local courts as a consumer.
